There are basically 3 methods of producing dissolved air in water for DAF cells (Dissolved Air Flotation for removal of material) :-
1 Sparger/inductor system
2 Air injection prior to a positive displacement pump (helical rotor pump)
3 Spray into a high pressure chamber with approximately 1/3 fill to give the maximum surface area for contact with the air(450/550 kPa) in the chamber.
Which system has proven to be the most reliable and cost effective based investigation and experience?
We have gone down the Sparger/inductor path passing the liquid from the inductor through a pressurised dwell chamber.
Also what little "tricks" can be used to improve the efficiency of either of the 3 systems?
