Hello,

We are designing a DGF with gravity flow feed , since there is no enough pressure available for a control valve what would be the best way to control the inlet flow for the design rate.
The feed line diameter is 10".
It is really a general subject for any gravity flow control to a tank to maintain a required residence time.

Best regards,
Moshe

There is no reason that a valve can not be used.

The dissolved air will have to be supplied from a pressurized header separately.

Presume you've also checked out the diff press drop across a 12inch or 14inch butterfly style control valve?

I have designed plenty of gas flotations with gravity flow. It is not a good idea to put control valve in the inlet of DGF, it will break your oil globules.
We generally put control valve far upstream or downstream. We also adjust the level of DGF.
Hope this help
