what's the distance between pole support made frome steel(I-beam) and a sprinkler?
I found in NFPA 13 distances between Suspended or Floor-Mounted obstruction but not pole support that are mounted in the floor and in contacte with the roof.

Might you be referring to a column?

If that is the case, see NFPA 13 2007 Figure 8.6.5.2.1.3. This is called the "3 times rule". Space your sprinkler 3 times the largest dimension of the column away from it's edge, up to 24".

You didn't draw the size of the column.

If the column is say 200 mm by 300 mm, then taking the largest dimension that is 3x300= 900 mm. However, the max. required is 610 mm, so put the sprinkler at least 610 mm away.

Real world knowledge doesn't fall out of the sky on a parachute, but rather is gained in small increments during moments of panic or curiosity.
