Hi,

I am currently learning how to use Distributed Ansys as we have upgraded our computing system. However, the biggest issue I seem to have is that I cannot monitor my solution progress. When using the GUI or batch mode, there is no output window like regular Ansys so I have no idea how far my solution is or of there are any errors etc. Ansys says there is no output window for dist. ansys, but how do you monitor a solution that may take 2 weeks to solve?????
Thanks

Hi,
an ANSYS's Solve process should use a log file (extension ".log") that is more or less unuseful, and an "output file" (extension ".out") which will record all the activity of the solver. Despite the extensions, both are plain-text files.
If the output is not redirected to file, for some obscure reason, you can force Ansys to redirect with the command /OUTPUT,
just prior to launch the solution.

Hey thanks, I actually just discovered the file0.out which is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks!
