Hey guys, I´m learning the Abaqus and I got some problems during my apprentice. Well, I’m trying to do an analysis of one wall and one beam, with the application of a distributed load on the top of the wall. For this, I made a 3-D wired element to represent the beam, and a Solid Element to represent the wall. Therefore, I can’t make the contact between the two elements during the assembly. In this case, should I make the both elements as a 3-D solid element or this will change the results? I couldn’t think in a way to put one Boundary Condition (as a roller) in the middle of the beam when I used a 3-D solid element, any tips?
I choose a solid element to represent the wall, I could get better results using a shell element to represent the same wall?
If you guys could show me any good reading or video material that help me learn more about it, I would be glad.
Sorry for the bad English and the great number of questions.
Warm Regards
