Typical speedy clash algorithms depend on intersections between faces of the various parts. Since stopping exactly when it touches is not detected by that intersection method it is unlikely to be reported as a clash.

In reasoning about this - a plate mated to another plate should not be detected as a clash.

However you are looking for contact, not clash.

According to this: one option is Contact + Clash, for both V4 and V5, V5 reference below.


This may also be helpful: look at the SAG setting.
