Do I have to consider any protection for Galvanized Carbon Steel Piping?

Hi!

In a Constrution Project I have a CTC where I have to respond this query:

In a galvanized carbon steel piping system (potable water system). Do I have to protect the buried galvanized carbon steel piping? or Can I buried this piping without any protection?

In case that I need to protect. Could you give me any standard or Recomended Practice to support my decision?
