Document template linked to external references

Hi all,
I need to ask for your help!
I've created a document template which can be inserted in a product using a plane and 2 points (isolated and Inputs of the template).
My problem consist in when I modify the position of these external features, the template doesn't get updated and I have to replace the old inputs for the new.
It would be great if it could be updated automatically.
Is there anybody who can help me with this issue?

What do you mean with published elements?
Are they same as published parameters at the Document Template Definition?

Sorry, english isn't my native language.
Perhaps I haven't explain the problem properly.
I have the template defined.
1 plane and 2 points are the inputs of it.
When I instantiate it in a product (by the 3 features) it places well in the product buy if I change the position of the plane or the points in the product, the template doesn't update it automatically.
I have to replace the old references by the new manually.
