I have to genrate some procurement specificaions for material.
Since i am more familiar with ASME sec VIII i tend to compare notes and find lots of situations are treated differently in Piping in comparision to vessel (Which is understandable). Having understood this, we do not want to miss out some thing critical (Yes we are sending few experienced people for 31.3 study). In the mean time we have procurement pressures and have to deliver few spec.
We do not want to mess things up which will have long term effect and involve testing, neither we want to use consultant for we will loose out the experience gained by this process.
Now for the situation
We have 10" sch 160 pipes API 5L X 60 grades and API 5 L X 65 grades and some A 333 Gr 6 and A 106 Gr b and some A 671 and A 672 of different sizes
Where as few Process lines require heat treatment by the virtue of thickness some do not have PWHT.
The API 5 L Grades are the tricky ones
We need to PWHT joints at 593 deg c. Some people have expressed concers that API 5L X grades physical properties alters after PWHT. hence this question.
Are there some provisions similar to UCS 56 In ANSI 31.3 or 31.8.
