I'm sure there are folks running NX on Vista, but that doesn't change the fact that UGS doesn't yet support Vista.

Some people are like slinkies....they don't really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I've installed NX3 on Vista Business without any issues (so far), so I'd guess NX4 would be okay. As Tim says though, it's not supported.

I believe NX 5.0.1 is the only certified release for Vista.

I don't think any release of UGS NX has been officialy 'certifed' by Siemens UGS as being 'Vista supported', at least not yet. And when we do, which should be soon, it will probably only be for UGS NX 5.0.1. Also note that there are no plans to go back and certify any prior releases, including UGS NX 5.0.0. The reason for this is that we had to make some albeit minor changes, yet critical for a limited number of situations, in the graphics interface between NX and the certified graphics cards and their drivers. This had to do with assuring full support of Open-GL which we knew was going to be an issue with Vista based on certain decisions made by Microsoft in this area (graphics standards). As I said, they were minor changes which the vast majority of our users would have never noticed one way or the other, but which we felt had to be addressed before we could, in all honesty, consider NX safe to use with Vista.

So you should keep your ears open as there should be a Software Field Bullitin coming from the GTAC organization any day now giving you the pertainent details of the certification.
