Does anyone depth correct friction sleeve measurement to match pore pressure and tip force?

I have been asked by a client to plan on corrected collected CPT data so that the friction sleeve measurement is moved up from the noted tip depth. The rational being that the friction sleeve is located higher (4") than the cone tip and to check ratios the client wants the friction sleeve data as a function of depth to recognize the physical difference in this measurement location. I have not heard of this being done before and have not been able to find any information on why this is or isn't a good idea. I assume that all the charts that use emperical data to correlate the Qc, Fs and U2 measurements to determine soil take this into account but I can't confirm or deny.

Does anyone have any references they could point me to on this?

The location of the sleeve friction load cell should be known whether immediately behind the tip load cell or further up. The offset is typically put in when developing the report and data files. Sleeve friction always ends before tip refusal this is due to physical offset on the actual CPT.
