Thanks a lot, David. This was really a great gift for Christmas. You have a very nice holiday and wonderful new year! This is so great!

Hiya,
A500 is an ASTM (American Society of Testing and Materials) specification. I would rather you go to the website, or to a science library at a college or university, or a testing laboratory to look at what I call "basis" specifications. There, you can read the words first hand and make your own determination of what is required by the manufacturers and specifying authorities. You will be astounded at all of the different information that is included in the basis specs. You can fine tune your procurement operations and accurately specify your needs without added cost, simply by getting the seller to meet the spec to which they are certifying. You can also find out many of the short comings of the materials by knowing what the producer is furnishing. Everyone gets on the same page by using the basis specifications.

I have, too often, found errors and ommissions in the sales literature provided by the producers or trade organizations. They are trying to promote their products and often their technical expertise has a very narrow field of focus.

Hope this helps,

Koz
