Does Louisiana Plumbing code allow carbon steel pipe in potable water?

I understand that the state of LA uses the LA Plumbing Code rather that the International Plumbing Code. Does the Louisiana Plumbing Code allow the use of carbon steel pipe for potable water distribution?
