I've been wondering for some time about that. I remember reading that Solidworks or Inventor transited to DirectX from OpenGL as default some time ago.

I read the ReadMe on the DVD but it's not clear to me, and it's not specified in SE's Application Display setting.

Thanks!

AFAIK either, when OGL is available it will use it otherwise
DX. In the long run SE will IMHO drop OGL because they tend
to use only what Redmont develops: J#, C#, .NET, DX,
OOXML (MSXML) Word, Excel and not to forget the latest graphic
adventure: the Fluent UI

Gemnoc ... SolidWorks still uses OpenGL for it's graphics. Hence it's need for the nVidia Quadro FX or ATI FireGL cards.

Thanks for the quick answers guys. I looked at Inventor's specs and it requires Direct3D 9/10 or OpenGL, so I guess OpenGL is not out of the picture yet.
