Does the ventilation cooling of MCC rooms work well? 1

Hi,
I'm intrested in finding out whether the ventilation cooling reffered to in the previous thread (MCC Room Ventilation / cooling) really worked or is still working ok? I'm interested in retrofiting the same kind of tech where i work (Nairobi,Kenya). Please advice on how best to go about it and the considerations to make. mind you i'm an elec eng and i'm intrested in recommending it as a project for energy conservation.

MCC rooms are best ventilated with blow through mechanical filtered ventilation system.Usually a 8~10c is accepted as the temperature rise.ie if the ambient is 35C you will have 45C with in the room.Fans are to be cycled on/off based on room thermostat reading.Air conditioning is not really required unless you are in one of those places where the ambient goes above 45C.I will design it as a positively pressurised space.Exhaust will be through gravity dampers wherein you can set required room pressure.

NFPA 70 uses 40°C as the maximum ambient temperature for usual operation. If the room temperature is higher than 40°C, one should verify that the equipment in the room is rated for the elevated temperature.
