Does weldable A706 rebar have the same 60,000 psi yield and 90,000 psi tensile strength as A615?

I currently do not have the necessary ASTM literature to determine this and must produce a design right away, as usual.

Thank you!

I may have discovered my own answer.

According to an ACI detailing manual, A706-84a has a tensile strength of only 80,000 psi as opposed to the 90,000 of A615-85.

So what do the second numbers, -84a and -85 refer to?

Also, it seems apparent, through research, that A706 IS INDEED "weldable rebar". Will someone please confirm?

Thank you!

Yes, of ASTM spec. A706 is typical 60/80. Tensile shall not be less than 1.25 * yield.

Yes, A706 bar is weldable bar.

The -84a and -85 refer to the edition year of the standard. So you are using a standard that is over 30 years old. ASTM A706-16 is the latest edition of the standard. It is not a good idea to reference a standard that is so old as there have been more than 20 editions of that standard since the ones you referenced.
