Hi everyone,
My company wants to sell condensing heating boilers on US market. These are oil fired heating boilers up to 70 kW made from mild and stainless steel. As they work under 3 bar (45 psi) pressure we need to stamp them by a H stamp. More less we know what to do but I have problems with calculations. Our boilers are not cylindrical only more less rectangular with waterway around. I have read the ASME Boiler and pressure vessel code section IV but it is made for "drum" boilers and vessels. And now I do not know what to do with that. Just calculate like plates under pressure and do not worry about the section IV? According European standard EN 303 I do not have to do any calculation if I use 4 or 5 mm thick mild steel.
Does anyone have this kind of experience? Could you help me to sort it out?
