Dovetail slide material selection

Hi, I am in the process of designing some production tooling, slightly outside my normal dutys. I have a dovetail slide which is about 400mm long and 150mm wide, the female part has 4 brass slipers (one on each side and two on the top), is brass the appropriate material to use here (particular grade)? and what steel should I specify for the male part of the slide ?
