Has anyone seen a cross-reference from Douglas process specs to Boeing. I don't think the OEM would take the time to do this, but maybe one of you have seen this at your airline. The goal would be to use Boeing specs for Douglas models. Probably alot of research involved in creating this cross-reference.
We experienced this recently with a longeron we were machining. It is very difficult to hold shape on 7075-T73 forging during machining. Post machining straightening is always required.
However, if you ignore the drawing requirement for rough machine first, heat treat, then final machine; and machine in "0" condition and heat treat using BAC 5602 (which uses Aqua Quench, not available in DPS) warpage is almost eliminated.
Anyone experienced similar problems?
