Drain nozzle connection in expansion bellow of Heat Exchanger

Hello all,

I have a BEM heat exachnger with expansion bellow. On shell side there is corrosive fluid . Therfore it is necessary to drain expansion bellow.
Now my question is :

Does any code ( ASME OR EN 13445) restricts to have opening in expanson bellow?
Is there any document whih shows the drain connection attached to expansion bellow?

I Have not approached yet supplier.
 
One option would be to use a flanged-only or flange-and-flued expansion joint, and locate the nozzle on the large-OD straight flange. See ASME VIII-1 Appendix 5, figure 5-2.

I don't see how this could be done on a normal bellows expansion joint.
 
Also vent nozzle is required.

IS THERE ANY CODE WHICH SHOWS OPENING IN EXPANSION BELLOW OPENING IS NOT ALLOWED OR ALLOWED?
 
yaar123, IF you are talking about a thick expansion joint, a pair (or more) of flanged or flanged and flued heads, see marty007's reply. Note Appendix 5 does not require vents / drains, but if fitted then these rules apply.

IF you are talking about a thin bellows joint, as per ASME Sec VIII, Div 1, Appendix 26, then I believe there are no rules concerning connections in the bellows convolution. I do believe the bellows vendors will tell you the stresses in the convolution cannot be managed, but you'd have to ask them.

Note that these joints are normally made of corrosion resisting materials such as inconel.

Cannot speak as to other Codes.
