Usually I am with a company that has standards and specifications I use for design. Well now I am working on my own so not sure what specifications to use. I have a project that has a French drain with a 6" perforated pipe and a 6" perforated pipe 25' deep next to a retaining wall foundation. I know there is drain rock and filter fabric around the pipes. Any recommendations on the specifications for the deep pipe, the drain rock and the geotextile fabric?

Thanks,
Kate

For this I would start with local highway department specifications, on the basis that likely contractors (and the local AHJ) should understand them, and they should have some track record.
HOWEVER, the engineer is always responsible for making sure the specifications issued are fit for the use he applies them to.
