Has anyone figured out how to use a drawing as a template/master?

For example I have 6 variant CATProduct for 6 exhaust line - the differences are at the inlet end only. I also have 1 completed CATdrawing with all the views, notes + dimns I require.

The obvious Edit..Links fails with 'view refuses link'

I am assuming that your 6 catproducts have only the inlet different then? That is one part that is different in each of the 6 catproducts? If this is the case, just switch out the the inlet in the catproduct using replace component. You can then update your drawing. By switching out the part in the catproduct, you will retain all views set up in the drawing, buy you may lose some dimensions that were assosiciated to the replaced catpart though.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for the pointers....

My mistake was to use 'New from' on the CATProd & CATDraw, then replace component.
If I open the draw and product, do the replacements, then use 'Save as' the draw retains the links and updates - a good solution.

But are there any pitfalls in using 'Save as' for these unique assemblies? Am I correct in saying all 6 products will have the same UUID?
