Drawing Circular Plate on Autocad and transferring to SAP2000

Here is my question:

I am drawing a circular plate on Autocad to transfer to SAP2000 as a dxf file but I have not been able to make a 3d face on my circular plate so when I transfer the drawing to SAP2000 it does not recognize the 3d circular plate area? Any suggestions? I've tried the "region" command but still have had no luck. I want to analyze this circular plate as a shell in SAP2000.

Any suggestions?

You need to draw the circle as a series of lines and points, not a fancy 3-D surface. Dxf in the lines and then the points (you can't do them both at the same time). Then draw areas between the nodes.
