Hey everyone,

I use 2d drawings quite a bit and I use the prompt tables with the formats that make beginning a new drawing very easy. I would like to use NOTES on the title block that are filled using prompts instead of using TABLES. I know notes work well with the scale (&scale) or the drawing name (&dwg_name) but I would like to create my own prompts that the user has to type in himself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,
We use a system where the drawing title block information is driven by model parameters. If these parameters fields in the model are not filled in prior to starting a drawing, Pro/E will prompt the user to enter the information before any drawing views can be placed. Is this what you are looking for?
Both our models and title blocks contain the following:

&part_number
&dwg_number
&rev_number
&model_name
&title_line1
&title_line2
&material
&ecn
&quantity
&eco

Hope this helps,

JW

Our formats include varibles in fields like &revision_number. Proe prompts for them every time a new drawing is starting.

JW,

I've been looking at these parameters and their functions and it looks like thats what I need.

Thanks a lot.

If you are using Pro/Intralink, some of these variables change so that you are pulling them from Intralink instead of the file itself.

&revision becomes &proi_revision
