Hello:

I have a large drawing whith 20 sheets. I have problem knowing what is the page number when I want to print out using print range.

Pages=Original sheet name=Renamed to
1____=Sheet 2______= Banana
2____=Sheet 3______= Cherry
3____=Sheet 1______= Apple
4____=Sheet 4______= Dewberry
the original sheets have been renamed and reordered

Using the example above if I want to print out Apple to Dewberry I have to look at the Feature Manager and count the names to know what I want is for page 3 to 4 in the print range to print out.

Is there a way to find out the actual page number of the sheets without the need to actually count it.

Printing is a standardized Windows print driver issue. Go talk to Mr. Gates. SoldWorks can't help you.

I was - and he did. So at least I didn't get coal.....

Once you have re-ordered & renamed your sheets, go back & rename the "Sheet formats(number)" line to show the sequential order. You can then use that to quickly reference which sheet numbers are required. It pays to use the SW format (Sheet formats1, Sheet formats2, etc) so that when a new sheet is added it will continue sequentially.

Is there an API that will sequentially rename the sheets if they are re-arranged? I have a drawing with 25 sheets, and the numbers on the pages are correct, and the name in the "Sheet Properties" is "sheet 1", sheet 2", etc.
If I re-arrange the order of the sheets, then I have to manually change the name in "Sheet Properties".
The border has text that shows "Sheet 4 of 25" for example.
The "4" in "Sheet 4 of 25" is:
Code:
$PRP:"SW-Current Sheet"
The "25 in "Sheet 4 of 25" is:
Code:
$PRP:"SW-Total Sheets"
I tried entering $PRP:"SW-Current Sheet" as the name in Sheet Properites but that didn't work.
I hope there is an easier way than to edit each individual name in Sheet Properites.
