Hello lads,

I have a question with probably obvious answer.

My company has a drawing template set up with their logo in it. Now everytime I save some drawing as a dxf/dwg file it creates picture file along with the drawing file.

Is there some way how to do it so the logo is inside the dxf/dwg file so it doesn't creat this picture file? We want the logo to be in the drawing but dont want to send picture with every drawing we do..

I hope you understand what I mean.. Thanks for your help.

How is the logo defined in the template? I have our logo imported from DXF in our drawing formats (not templates, templates use the formats). No problem with exporting drawings as DFX.

You right. It is formats of course..

When I open the format the logo is there as a picture I guess. I am not sure what is the best way. All formats are in company from my predecessors so I never had to do one..

Maybe if you can tell me what is the best way to put logo in formats it would be appreciated.

It depends on how much detail and color there is. Most marketing departments provide multiple versions of logos, color vs. monochrome, solid vs. outline. Get the simplest one allowed, a monochrome outline logo if you can. Really simple geometrical logos like the old Lucas "slash" can be done directly in CAD. Slightly more complex logos can be converted from a bitmap to DXF. There are some nice $$ packages that do a really good job. Or if you are like me you can hunt around and find something free on the internet. I believe the last time our logo changed I used Wintopo. If it's a really complex logo with a lot of blended colors then I don't know how to do it.

Thank you. So if I understand it right now you can not just take a jpg picture and insert it in format .. it has to be vector object..

I am going to try the wintopo.
