Hi Folks,

Has anyone ever run into a situation where they've set a drawing to print in black and white but the actual text fonts are being printed in grayscale? This particular problem that I'm dealing with is machine specific (I believed) because the same settings produce the expected results printing the same file(s) on another workstation.

I do recall having seen/read something similar about this in the past but I'm drawing a blank as to when/where that might've been. As always I appreciate any feedback that the members of this forum might be able to provide.

Best regards,

CorBlimeyLimey,

I'll check that BUT wouldn't the print setting for Black and White override that anyway?

I don't think so ... that is like using a greyscale (depending on the printer) ... but I don't know enough of that side to say for sure.

I can't explain exactly why, but the print setting doesn't appear to override the text. This might depend on the printer and/or drivers used (which may vary from one machine to the next). The safest bet is to use the options setting.

Hi Folks,

I just gave this a shot and there was not any change in the behavior. A colleague just whispered in my ear that this is probably a driver issue but I would like to rule anything else out before throwing in that towel. Any other thoughts?

Thanks,

Is the text in a note added to a drawing sheet view or part of the sheet format?

If it's a driver issue you should be able to compare whats on your computer to whats on the other computers which printed OK.

If you can upload a sample drawing I will print it here to see what happens? We have laser & inkjet printers I can send it to.

CorBlimeyLimey,

Thanks for the additional advice. The issue was tracked to an AutoCAD font (ROMANS) being referenced in the settings. Apparently this is a known issue in the SW Knowledge Base. I just didn't put 2 and 2 together. The workstation displaying the behavior has AutoDesk programs on it but the second one doesn't which somehow causes the setting to use an alternate local true type font.

Like I said I should've looked deeper when that item came up in the Knowledge Base.

Thanks for everything folks!
