drawing units

I have and assembly drawing with several components that I brought in Pro from a step file. The units came in as metric.
I change the units to inches OK in the assembly. The components are still metric. When I open the part and change the units from metric to inches, it disaapears. What is a solution to this problem??? Is the a way to convert using the tools options?????

don't quote me on this but I understood that if you have a assembly /part and it's in another unit of measure .. if you just open it in mechanica it will convert all your units to mechanica units
