Drill Connections

Hello everyone,

I am new on Eng-Tips forum sites.
I have a big confusion about Numbered connection (NC) and Internal flux connection (IF). some one please help me to clear my doubt that - what's the basic difference between of both connection and as it a interchangeable even from different types of connection, could i use NC standard for production / gauging for IF connection ?
