Driveshaft with CV and slip joint question

I need to install a double-cardin and slip joint into my new drive-shaft. This is to be used in a 4runner rear with shims to adjust pinion angle. My question was is there any preference to location, as to drive end or driven end, of my slip joint. Also does the direction of spline and splined shaft inside the slipjoint matter.

I'm assuming this to be a "one piece" prop shaft...in which case, 'normal' placement is at the trans/transfer output. Possibly for reduced 'unsprung wt' and exposure to 'contamination'?
Depending on the rear end, e.g., "live axle", I could see a possible difference in angular change, end to end. Otherwise, I don't see any physical reason it won't work either way... if you discount longevity.

Direction of spline? For the benefit of ease of assembly and the fit for a conventional rear seal, that's pretty obvious. However, for, say a two piece prop shaft, the center slip joint needs no seal capability and I see no preference in direction.

Yes it is a flanged one piece, double cardin at trans. and I'll try the spline down at the differential. Thanks Rod
