I need to do drop test for ER 70S A1. I need to know whether drop test is required for qualifying 20MnMoNi55(SA 508 Gr 3)+ SA350GRLF2/ SA 515 Gr 70 joint using ER 70S A1?
I want to know whether it will pass the test and at what temperature?. Does any one have hand on experience with these material combination.

What welding standard are you using and does it define the "drop test?"

Best regards - Al

Do you mean a drop weight tear test or a Charpy V-notch impact test? What temperature; What energy values?? Generally speaking, drop weight tear tests are not defined by most Engineering/Construction Codes because of their expense and they are performed on full thickness specimens.
