Hey,
I am attempting to model FRP confined concrete in Abaqus using the Drucker-Prager model. I am having serious convergence issues related to it. I have tried changing the time increment (Max & minimum & initial). I have also tried to change the mesh sizes but it still doesn't work. The nlgeom option is switched on.
I am assigning it a displacement at one end of 0.003 and the cylinder has fixed end on the other end. Also the displacement is Ramp type. In addition to this I have partitioned the cylinder concentrically in order to have uniform meshes. The outer part has Hex-type elements and the inner portion has wedge type elements.
After running the analysis the analysis is aborted due to the error which says. "The plasticity/creep/connector friction algorithm did not converge at '_' points.
Any guidance in this regard will be highly appreciated. Thank you very much
