The owners mechanical engineer made a comment on my drawings that I needed dry pendents on my antifreeze system in lieu of standard pendents.
This is a small antifreeze system above a ventilated metal ceiling covering a loading dock.
The pendents are on return bends for adjustment purposes.

Before I explain to him how the antifreeze will protect the drop and sprinkler,(Just like it is protecting the rest of the piping above the ceiling) and utilizing a dry pendent won't make a difference, I wanted to make sure there isn't something I am missing here.

Thanks

Only the increased costs of the dry pendent and the increased frequency of testing the dry pendent. I think it is 10 yrs vs 50 yrs with standard sprinklers.

He could be concerned that the drops will not be individually drained when the solution is replaced periodically. If it is small like you implied, I wouldn't think a few drops should matter.
