Dual dimensions with tolerance

I have a drawing in SW 2003 with several dual dimensions. I would like to add tolerance to the base dimension (inches) but when I do SW adds the tolerance to the metric dimension also. Is there anyway to change this?

Thanks,

I may be (age) dating myself with my response but what the hell. Everybody complains that the software doesn't do this, or the software doesn't do that, or the software isn't fast enough ... c'mon gang ... it sure beats pushing a pencil. I can remember when doing or drawing some of the design work I work on now would have taken me weeks to draw out by hand. Now it takes me a couple of hours or at worst case a couple of days.

Deal with the software issues, they'll always be there.

Now repeat after me the Software God's prayer ...

Oh Great Software God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change ...
The courage to change the things I can ...
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Have a nice day ...)

I'm not complaining about the software.... I'm just looking for a way to turn off the tolerances on the second of the dual dimensions because I don't want the tolerance on the metric dimension. Although I could complain because SW put the tolerances right on top of each other and it makes such a jumbled mess you can't read any of it. :)

mncad,

You can change where the dual dim comes up in your tools\options\document properties\detailing "Dual dimension display" either "On top" or "On the right". check the one you want to use

There is no option to turn off dual dimension tolerance for the metric. You make it with a tolerance they both update to it unless...You hand type the metric dim in above, below or on the same line. If you want that go to the properties of the dim and click on modify text and add there. Doing this it will not update if the dim changes.

Think Cheeseburger responded to wrong thread.
He must of meant that for the "workaround" thread.

If it is a +/- tolerence you can add the tolerence manually after the dimension in the text box.
