Hey Everyone,

Does anyone know what the point of the "Dump parameter values" icon in the Tools>Options is used for? In R14 this icon was added beside the icon that resets all your options back to default.

I selected the icon and it creates .catvbs file that don’t seem to do anything when you run them.

I tried looking in the CATIA help files for any info, but nothing is mentioned.

Thanks,

Do know much about VB but my best guess is the CATScript file it creates can be modified to run and change the desired settings (instead of going to Tools, Options to do it).
This can be useful if you change settings often. No need to go to Tools, Options just run the script.

Hey KooKoo,

That would be handy but the files dont modify anything. I tried running several of them as see if they had any affect, but nothing changed.

Online R16 docs dont help either since they dont mention anything about it, and this option was added back in R14.

R14 added the cabability to Dump the parameters. R15 added the ability to set some of them via VBScript. R16 is supposed to add the ability to set the rest of them.

Theoretically, you should be able to dump the values using this button, and then re-run the resulting script to set them on another workstation/session. I haven't tried it yet, though.

Hello catiajim,

I dumped out the values from R16 and then deleted all the catsettings from the folder. I restarted catia and needed to select a license (so I did), then restarted. I then ran several of the scripts that were created by the dump function. Restarted catia and nothing changed.
Was I doing something wrong?

Thanks
