Duplex 2205 Tubesheets 1

I have 2" thick duplex stainless tubesheets with duplex (S31803) 3/4" o.d. straight tubes, I'm being forced into impact testing to -50 deg. F.
for the tubesheets, and so my question is: Is there any solution that would let me out of this impact testing requirement? Any exemption?

From what I've read about 2205 duplex is that it's hard to exempt.

What is your code of construction?

Per ASME VIII-1, you must impact test.

See section UHA-51(d)(3)(a). The only exemption available is for 3/8" and thinner if you are at a temperature of -20°F and warmer.

This is why you often see 2205 tubes put into austenitic tube sheets.
I hope that your raw material was tested to A923, that is a -40 impact test.
If your application requires -50F testing, and at -50F you still exceed the energy requirements of A923 then you only have to do the one set of tests.
