Hi all,

It might seem like a novice question but is there a quick way to duplicate or clone parts. As I am trying to model artificial turf and for the rubber crumb infill I am wondering if it will be easier to just model it as a solid rubber layer or if there is an easy way to multiply the parts and distribute them over a 1m x 1m surface.

Thanks
Jon

You can either use the Part manager to copy parts or in the Assembly module simply copy the parts as many times as you like.

thanks but is there a way to quickly do this hundreds or thousands of times and get them to line up together? For instance if I was modelling a layer of sand.

Use the Assembly module. You can create multiples of parts at set distances apart very easily. Use the part mesh option rather than independent meshing of parts.

You can use the function: linear pattern. Then you're parts are nicely in line. If you want a grid of 'sand' in this case, you're done after that I think.

thanks! this worked perfectly
