Duration activity

I create an activity and set duration to 1 day. I then create a resource and assign it to the activity. When I look at the "Resource usage"-view the work has spread out over two days, with 7 hours on one day and 1 hour the next. If I try to adjust the hours so that all 8 hours are in the same day, that day is marked as overtime and the resource percentage has been adjusted to 114% in the Gant-view. I use a resources pool and the time is set from 8.00 to 12.00 and from 13.30 to 17.30, 8 hours a day. I notice activity starts at 9 and not at 8.

What am I doing wrong?

Does your Calendar tab settings in Options for the document match the resource work time settings?

Not sure why they would have been changed, usually all the times are defaulted to be the same.
