DVR text recording

Hello,

I don't have much initial information, but I am looking for information on incorporating DVR with our sensors. We do material testing and are looking for a way to have data recording, real-time data reporting, and searchable data records. I have seen point of sale systems set up with text insertion to record text transactions off of the cash register and am looking for something similar.

Any help is appreciated. I can dig up more specifics but am looking for help. Need to know things like what protocol is used for the text in mpeg4, how to isolate it, connection details, etc. We aren't doing any video, just recording data from several sources.

If you give us details on what kind of sensors, whats the application your sensors are being used for, what material you are sensing and the like, it will be easier to suggest a way to recover the data. There are many solutions to your problem but more info is required. If the information is proprietary just give basic info that doesnt nfringe on that.
