Hi,

I very often work in Microstation on .dwg's, and generally with no problem.

But for one of my clients, when she opens my .dwg to work on in AutoCAD (LT), the text in my title box's seems to go odd. It seems to get stretched out very wide, but keeps it's height.

The font is Ariel, which is on both machines, but other than that, I'm stumped!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Alex

There are occasional incompatibilities in transfering a Microstation to .dwg (even if it was originally a .dwg, the problem is in how Microstation writes to .dwg). AutoCAD LT (instead of full version) probably isn't helping. If she doesn't need to edit it, then you're better off sending her a pdf.

Alex,
First we need to decide which version of Microstation you are on. Click on the help pull down and click on about Microstation. It will give you a Version number. When we have that we can look at it from there.

Thanks for replies.

I do always send a pdf too, but unfortunately she wants both pdf and dwg.

I think it might be to do with her 'LT' version - I have not had complaints from people using the full version.

It is version 08.05.02.35 windows x86 that I am using.

Thanks again

Alex

Since you are in V8 you should have no problem saving to the dwg format. Sending a pdf is a good idea too. However, you may need to contact the client and ask them about the fonts that they have. They will and might have to down load font support from AutoDesk. AutoCad LT is just that. It is a cheaper version with less resources available. (Learned that during the Cell Tower Boom). As I had told my clients if you want it in that format you will need to get the full blown version or you will have to deal with the default text that AutoCad will assign to it.
