Ok I am a newby so please help me out....

I have been using SW for about 3yr now, I use it to design and produce jewelry. Till now I have only been using STL files to print on rapid prototyping machines.

I am now trying to make metal molds out of the files/parts Ive built. I need to save in DXF file format in order to have the mill cut the mold. Can someone please help me on saving in DXF format.

Is there a certain way a piece must be drawn?

Insert your models into a SolidWorks 2D drawing first, then "Save As" and use the drop-down menu to select DXF as the file type.

I've had those. It usually involves sitting in my old freshman physics class trying to take a test on material I haven't studied in years. Also, I'm generally in a state on undress. "Where are my pants and shoes?"
