Dxf image

Hi there

I'm inserting a raster in Acad, but when I safe it as a dxf file and reopen it, the image is no longer there. I tried copying the image and paste it in Acad, but still no luck. can anybody help me with this?

Raster images do not become part of the AutoCAD drawing file, they are only referenced in. So likewise they are not part of a dxf file.

Does the "copy and paste" method change the image from being a reference/attachment to somehow inserted (such an an OLE object)?. Can check this with Image Manager, does the image show as an attachment.
