Hello,
For some reason I cannot export a drawing in DXF format.
The engineer right next to me is running the same version of Pro/E (2001) and can export DXF all day long.
Would anyone know why this may be happining????

Is the export to dxf icon greyed out or not active.
If it is its because you have fast HLR switched on.
switch it off and you should find the DXF icon is now active.

Another way to fix this problem is before you go to export a DXF file, hit the shade icon but don't hit refresh, now when you go to export or save as dxf it will be available.

This is true in both 2000i2 and 2001. You can also hit no hiddenlines after the dxf is availabel and it will stay. You have to do this each time.

PTC dont publish much on data transfer between systems i.e Proe to DXF or any other format but if you look in your installation of proe this was mine below
d:\PTC\proe2001\test\intf_configs\dxf_export.pro you'll find the setup for the conversion of the lines from Pro/e to DXF. We use a software package called MEDUSA which was once owned by PTC. But we have only just found out about it's config file and we've had Proe for 5 years. So ask your tech support for a configuration file for DXF. Hope this helps

Thanks to everyone. It did end up being the Fast HLR option. That had me pulling my hair out.

Thanks again you guys are the best.
