does anyone know of any design guidance for Edyn for use in vibration analysis? I have seen UK guidance saying it is 1.2 x Ec, and US based saying it is 1.35 x Ec. Have found nothing in AS3600 or any other Au/Nz based documents. Any ideas?

Thanks

Cannot think of any reference in Australian codes, many of the floor vibrations reports that I have read consistently reference Concrete Centre "Design Guide for footfall induced vibration of structures" and CSI Publication 354 "Design of floors for Vibration". Sounds like a performance-solution based approached.

Given that AS/NZS 2327 composite standard effectively codified the SCI P354 assessment procedure, I'd say adopting the UK guidance is probably the most appropriate for an NZ/Aust design environment as it will/should be most familiar to designers.

The SCI guide is considered far more state of the art/modern than design guide 11 based on my experience, but do keep in mind those procedures should be used with the dynamic E value from the same document, as opposed to mixing and matching. As any empirical relationships will be benchmarked based on using that particular procedure and its Edyn value.
