The question is whether Dynamic System Monitor (DSM) to be connected to metering core current Transformer (CT) or protection core. Metering core gets saturated during fault. However DSM manufacturers generally recommend Metering core CT. The problem with Protection Core is accuracy

Any Suggestion? What is the practice?

If you want to check the accuracy of the revenue metering you may want to use the metering CTs.
If you want information to analyze events you may want to use the protection CTs.

If you are referring to a Digital Fault Recorder (DFR), I would connect to the protection CT's. I can't see much use for fault data full of saturated CT data (harmonics, flat top).

Enlighten us on what a Dynamic System Monitor is and what is the purpose of installing.
