Hello,
I am trying to analyse a cable structure. They are affected very much by the wind. I would like to simulate a dynamic wind load.
If anyone has documentation about wind action and method of introducing dynamic wind load in SAP2000, i would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

In order to simulate a dynamic wind load, you will have to obtain dynamic wind loading data from a wind tunnel study or some other measurement. With this data you would assign joint and/or lineal wind loads at different locations throughout your model and then define a time history function or multiple functions, and a time history case or multiple time history cases to be applied to these assigned loads.

Did your client require that you run a dynamic wind load? Because it's expensive to do dynamic wind loading.

thanks for the reply.
I have succeded in performing a dynamic analysis but there is something that is bothering me and that is ,,,how do i know it is correct?
My time history function is a function defined at every second and the length of the function is about 2 minutes. How do the values for the user defined parameters influence the results. How do these parameters have to be set in order to be sure about the results?

Thank you

bothul, you don't give enough data to offer you much help. Where did you get your max loads? Did you assign the max loads as joint load and/or distributed line loads? Your time history functions would be typically be based on field measurements or wind tunnel data. You might want to read some books on structural dynamics
