I have a piston engine I designed and built from scratch. I would like to run it on a dyno and get some baseline performance data (torque, HP, BSFC, maybe some emissions data?) and do a few hours of durability testing. The engine will (hopefully) make about 200HP max and run between 1000 and 3800 rpm. A motoring dyno would be ideal, so that I can get some FMEP data, but I would settle for something like a water brake dyno with some limited data acquisition.

I am located in Orange County, Calif. (Huntington Beach). Can somebody recommend a dyno service in my area?

Thanks in advance.
Terry

Hi Terry. You might give Bob Swenson a call over at PBS Engineering. (714) 534-6700 I think. It's been a long time and I don't have it written down. His shop is in Garden Grove. He has a small hp dyno and would certainly know where others in the area are located.
You might also try Design Products Racing in Costa Mesa 892-1513. Ask for Don. He uses a local dyno shop for his race engines.
