If I am weak in any area it's earthquake sway bracing simply because I've never done it. Well, actually I have done it two jobs over 45 years the last being near Charleston just a couple years ago.
It can't be that hard but if you've never done it....
The project is located very near Savannah, Georgia and is a 35,000 sq ft aircraft hanger for unfueled aircraft designed per NFPA #409 Chapter 12. Wet sprinkler system designed to a density of .17 over 5,000.
Building itself will be a standard bent metal purlin building and is not a government DOD project.
Below is the structural notes taken from the drawing.
On the FP drawings we have this:
From what I understand is sway bracing is not required for this building? I've done a lot of work all along the east cost of Georgia and I have never seen seismic requirements before unless dealing with a federal government job.
So, if you would, bear with me and tell me what I have here. Is seismic bracing required?
