A number of years ago we installed a basic Eaton ATC-600 IQ Transfer Controller in an older GE 5kV line up. The customer wanted Option 29J (Manual Transfer Back to Normal rather than the standard Automatic return.) The option was installed via a Option Feature Module via serial port. The controller crapped out after 13 years. Customer has a replacement controller and Option 29J feature module. I just can't seem to locate instructions for installing the option into the controller. I have scoured the am surprised I can't find the instructions. The controller is discontinued so Eaton has been slow to respond. My distributor can't do anything without the original Eaton SUM number which does not exist as the controller was installed in GE gear. My good Eaton contact has moved on so I am hoping to get lucky by posting here. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have run into this a couple of times before, I went back thru all my older Eaton stuff on ATS's, only thing I could find on the Feature Upgrade Modules was a note saying "Install instructions included with module".

I thought it was a fairly simple process, as I remember i just plugged the module in and put the ATS controller into program mode, message comes up on display if you want to proceed, press enter and feature upgrade installed. A former coworker I asked who has done more of the older Eaton ATS's than I have said he thought the install instructions were right on the feature module itself.

Have you gone into to the program mode and checked to see if parameter MANTR is set to 0 and if it can be set to 1?

Last time I asked Eaton for technical help on an older ATS controller I just got a sales pitch for an upgrade, even after several tries.

I've posed the question to some other "old guys" I know with ATS knowledge, maybe one of them will come back with some better info.
