I'm trying to set up parameters for an EB Welding Process.
Currently working with an EB Weld Facility that doesn't do their own Engineering.
I have a 2.625" dia. 17-4 PH Tube with a 0.195" wall thickness and I'm trying to weld it to a 347SS Tube with the same dimensions. This is a Butt Joint configuration.
We have full penetration but we're experiencing a Root Notch with a depth of 0.001" and a Radius of 0.001". My Tolerances are 0.0096" Depth and 0.006 Radius.
Can someone tell me what Weld Parameters would most likely make the most positive shift in weld output to eliminate the Root Notch and not create a drop thru condition?
